Do You Know What Epidiolex is?
First lets explain. Epidiolex is an FDA approved CBD drug that you can only get with a prescription at a pharmacy. It was developed to treat epileptic seizures. A year’s supply for an individual over 18 years old is $42,000 a year.
I saw an ad for this drug the other day on instagram I believe. As a person that runs a consultancy that is not plant touching (I do 90% of the work via video chat) and cannot advertise on the Meta platforms, it’s pretty infuriating to see a drug that – if there were any sanity in this country right now – should be entirely illegal to sell and should not be FDA approved.

The FDA as the name implies is a federal agency and cannabis is not federally legal. For the initiated the Farm Bill allows for up to .3% THCa in hemp, and Epidiolex is below that threshold (according to google) as it contains virtually no THCa. But here is the kicker, how are they doing FDA trials if cannabis is federally illegal?
Trump just signed an executive order in an attempt to have the DEA reschedule cannabis to schedule III which would then allow for clinical trials (it hasn’t happened yet), but Epidiolex has been on the market since November 1st 2018. How is this possible? The DEA has scheduled Epidiolex as a schedule V (five) drug. Well isn’t that convenient. This drug which is completely derived from cannabis gets a pass, because the government said it was ok and no doubt GW Pharma (now a part of Jazz Pharma) greased the right palms. Where have we heard this type of hypocrisy in the past? Keep reading.
United States Cannabis Patent No. 6,630,507
Yes the US government has a medical patent on cannabis. This is essentially how they are allowing Jazz Pharma to run amok. The patent which is explained very well in this article from the Denver Post states that the patent is for the non-psychoactive properties of the plant which Epidiolex is not psychoactive with essentially 0% THCa contained in the drug.
So lets recap, cannabis (a natural plant) in its natural state, as it was intended from mother nature is illegal, but when man comes in to manipulate a plant (who creates more poisons daily than you can shake a stick at) and adulterates, isolates and synthesizes everything he can get his hands on, it’s fine.
More Examples of Government Hypocrisy
I’ll give another couple examples, Heroin is illegal, pharmaceutical opioids are not. Methamphetamines are illegal, Ritalin and Adderall are not. Now it’s worth mentioning that Ritalin and Adderall are not the same the same thing as Methamphetamines, but they are very similar. Epidiolex is not cannabis, but is derived from cannabis and the medicinal properties only exist because they existed first in nature as part of the cannabis plant.
I don’t blame capitalism when I see these kind of things. I blame corruption. Corruption of our government the exploitation of our citizens and the continuation of whoring out our population for profit. Things are only going to get worse from here, which is why I’m setting my sights on Europe for the future of cannabis. One love.
